Who ECR Construction is

A driveway that holds water. A slab that's off. Sealer that starts peeling. Every one of those started as the cheaper quote. ECR measures behind its own crew, uses the right mix for the job, and gives the concrete the time it needs. It takes longer. It's also why you won't be calling anybody back to fix it.

ECR stands for Experience Creates Results. Erick grew up on job sites with his father, started his own business at 18, and still walks every job site before a quote goes out. When you call ECR, you're talking to the person whose name is on the work.

Bad Concrete Looks Fine the Day It's Poured.

The problems show up after the check clears.

Concrete hides shortcuts for a while. The wrong mix, a rushed finish, sealer put down over trapped moisture: none of it shows the first week. It shows months later, when the surface starts peeling, the water sits instead of draining, and the crew that gave you the low number has stopped answering. By then the only real fix is tearing it out and starting over. That's how the cheapest bid on a driveway turns into the most expensive one.

You can't patch your way out of a bad pour. You can only avoid it.

Six Signs Your Concrete Guy Is Cutting Corners.

Most of them show up before the truck does.

  • He Only Tells You the Good Parts.

Every job site has pros and cons. If you only heard the pros, you heard a sales pitch.

  • His Number Is Way Under Everyone Else's.

Concrete, labor and time cost what they cost. A much lower bid means something is coming out of the job.

  • He'll Do It Any Way You Want.

Even if it goes against building code or won't hold up. A contractor who never pushes back isn't protecting you.

  • Poured One Day, Sealed the Next.

Stamped and colored concrete needs days to cure and dry out before sealer goes on. Rush it and the sealer peels.

  • "Close Enough" Is Good Enough.

A quarter inch here, an eighth there. Nobody checks behind the crew, so nobody catches it.

  • The Fix Is Always a Patch.

Glue it, spray it, cover it. The cheap repair today that guarantees a tear-out tomorrow.

Get a Straight Answer on Your Project

Erick will tell you what it takes. Good and bad.

Measured to the Quarter Inch. Because Somebody Should Be.

What you get when the owner checks the work himself.

1/4 in. off, across a 39 ft slab

Most people would never notice. Erick measures behind his own crew, and he does.

When you hire ECR Construction, you get:

  • Work that gets checked after the crew leaves.

Erick measures behind his own guys. On a 39-foot slab, a quarter inch off gets called out. Most people would never notice. He does.

  • The right concrete for the job.

A driveway, a house slab and a stamped patio don't call for the same mix. You get the one your project needs, not whatever is cheapest that week.

  • The time it takes to do it right.

Concrete has its own schedule. We work to it instead of rushing it to get to the next job.

  • The pros and the cons before you sign.

Erick walks your site and tells you both. You decide with the whole picture.

  • A real written quote.

On letterhead, by email, three to four days after the site visit. Not a number off the top of his head.

  • A job site treated like somebody lives there.

We clean up after ourselves, and we tell you up front what to expect: construction is dirty work, and we'd rather be honest about that than promise spotless. [Confirm Erick's end-of-day and end-of-job cleanup routine]

Old Driveway Out. New Driveway In.

Here's what a full tear-out and replacement looks like when nobody rushes it.

Before ECR

Cracked, sunken or patched one too many times. A driveway that's past fixing.

After ECR

Torn out to the base, re-poured with the right mix and finished clean. Done once.

Thinking about going a step further? Ask Erick about a stamped finish.

Everything Sits on the Concrete.

So that's where we start. And when the concrete's done, you don't have to go find another crew.

  • Driveway Tear-Out & Replacement

We remove the old driveway and pour a new one that drains right and holds up.

  • Slabs & Foundations

Home foundations, garage and shop slabs, and pads for metal buildings, boxed and poured to measurement.

  • Patios & Walkways

Clean, level, properly finished concrete for the back of the house.

  • Stamped & Decorative Concrete

Our top-of-the-line finish. Color, pattern and texture, including built-in pieces like benches and fire pit surrounds.

  • Framing

If we pour your foundation, we can frame what goes on top of it. Same crew, no handoff.

  • Container Rental

Construction dumpsters sized for tight lots. We drop it, you fill it, we haul it. [Confirm sizes and whether they rent on their own]

The top-of-the-line option

Stamped concrete, sealed when it's ready. Not the next day.

A lot of crews pour stamped concrete one day and color and seal it the next. We don't. The color needs about a week to bond before the surface gets washed, and then another day or two to dry out before sealer goes on. Seal over trapped moisture and it peels. Ours doesn't get sealed until it's ready.

Raised on Job Sites. Running His Own Since 18.

Erick is a second-generation builder who learned the trade next to his dad and never left it.

Erick grew up on framing jobs with his father, who framed houses for 25 years. At 18 he bought his first truck, a 7.3 diesel Ford, borrowed his dad's dump trailer, and spent a year and a half hauling construction trash by hand until he could buy his first five containers. Concrete came next: boxing, pouring and finishing foundations, and then learning what every mix is actually for. The first customers came by word of mouth, from people who trusted his father's work. They kept calling because of his. Today ECR runs its own crew, trucks, equipment and finishing tools, and Erick still looks at every job himself.

"I'll tell them the bad parts and the good parts of what can happen if they do it this way."

The Quick Fix Would Have Ruined the Driveway.

So Erick said so, in front of the homeowner.

A homeowner had a permeable driveway, the kind built so rain drains down through the surface instead of pooling on top. The stones in it were coming loose. The fix on the table was to spray landscaping adhesive over the top and call it done. Cheap, fast, and the stones would stop moving. Erick spoke up. Glue seals the surface. A sealed permeable driveway stops draining, and now the homeowner has a puddle they can't walk through and a driveway that has to come out anyway. The right repair cost more that day. It was also the only one they'd pay for once.

"Do it the right way. It's gonna cost you a couple thousand, but you do it and you forget about it."
Erick, ECR Construction
  • We Tell You Both Sides.

The pros and the cons of your site and your plan, before you spend anything.

  • We Change the Scope, Not the Standard.

If the quote is more than you want to spend, we'll show you what to take out to get there. We won't quietly cut corners to hit a number.

  • We'll Walk Away From a Job That Will Fail.

If doing it your way means going against code or building something that won't last, we'll tell you, and we'll pass.

Questions Homeowners Ask Erick.

Straight answers, the same way he'd give them on your driveway.

Why is your quote higher than the other one I got?

Because it covers what the job actually takes: the right mix, the right prep and the time concrete needs to cure. Concrete, labor and time cost what they cost. When a bid is much lower, something is coming out of the job, and you usually find out what after it's poured.

Can you work within my budget?

Yes, by changing the scope, not the standard. If the quote is more than you want to spend, Erick will show you what to take out of the job to get there. He won't do the same work for less by cutting corners.

Do you give quotes on the spot?

No. Erick walks your site first, then you get a full written quote by email in 3 to 4 days.

What areas do you serve?

New Bern, Greenville and the surrounding area. [Confirm the towns Erick wants listed]

Do you tear out and haul off the old driveway?

Yes. Tear-out is part of a driveway replacement. [Confirm hauling and disposal are included]

How long does a stamped concrete job take?

Longer than a lot of crews will tell you, on purpose. The color needs about a week to bond before the surface gets washed, then another day or two to dry out before sealer goes on. [Erick to confirm a typical start-to-finish timeline]

If you pour my foundation, can you frame the house too?

Yes. If we pour your foundation, the same crew can frame what goes on top of it. No handoff to a new contractor.

Can I rent a container without hiring you for the job?

[Erick to confirm container rental terms and sizes]

What will my yard look like when you're done?

We clean up after ourselves, and we'll be honest with you: construction is dirty work, and your yard won't look exactly like it did before we got there. Erick will tell you up front what to expect for your job.

Are you licensed and insured?

[License number and insurance details from Erick]

Do you take on work for builders?

Selectively. Most of our focus is homeowners who want the job done right.

Cheap or Right. You Pick.

You can have it done cheap, or you can have it done right. If you want it done right, start with a conversation. Tell Erick what you're planning, send a few photos, and he'll come look at it himself and tell you exactly what it takes.
